Get the Interview Edge
Congrats you have been selected for an interview! You may think that your resume has sold your skills for this job. Think again! This is the first step. Several candidates will be competing with you for this position! Be on the top of your game using these guidelines.
Get ready!
Do research on the company through investigating the company website, linkedin, facebook and twitter corporate pages. Google names of interviewers to get background information. (Remember the company will be googling your name as well!)
Have copies of your resume ready for any interviewer that may come in without your resume. Have copies of reference letters ready and bring them to the interview. Reference letters come in handy in confirming you did your job well and make the end of the interview go especially smooth!
Get set!
Have your summary ready to spill when the interviewer says – “Tell me about yourself”. You will want to include a brief history of your last position, responsibilities, departments you worked with, your expertise as related to the position and how you went the extra mile.
GO!
Behavioral questions are very common in interviews today! Answer questions that explain a work situation and enhance your experience around team work, leadership and problem solving skills. Your story will help set you apart from your competition and will be remembered by hiring managers!
Get the JOB!
Ask intelligent open-ended questions about the position and suddenly the interview turns into a conversation! Be confident and ask for the job! Positive energy and enthusiasm will put you at the top of the list!
